How to survive a date

Friday, August 28th, 2009

You put your best attitude forward
And leave the rest to fate
Or the whole date will go backward

Some people may be nice
But may not know how to handle a date
So be patient and try to entice

Be kind even if the other is not
You need not bestow the same energy
For some, kindness may be a lot

Don’t discuss the past or your ex
Smile and be courteous at all times
It’s too early now to discuss sex

Treat the person with respect
Even if you‘re not interested
That’s what you would expect

Don’t antagonize
That may cause a bad reaction
One that may agonize

Don’t discuss money
Or you’ll appear to be a gold-digger
Or a major phony

Offer to share the invoice
That can certainly impress a date
And don’t fail to show poise

In the end, listen to your heart
But follow your conscience
Love is an intricate piece of art

HOW TO SURVIVE A TOUGH DAY

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

You can dance and laugh all day
While pretending it’s your birthday
Celebrate like it’s a holiday
For that, you don’t need a deejay
Pretend you’re a child at play
Put your frustration into a tray
And send it very far away
Possibly deep in the bay
In sadness you must not sway
Don’t be afraid to have your say
Enjoy a delicious sundae
Or perhaps a scrumptious soufflé
Stay far away from the melee
By the end of the workday
You’ll have the greatest day
Trust me; this is not a cliché
You should try it on a Monday

SURVIVING A BAD EXPERIENCE

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Don’t let a bad experience
Determine who you are today
You must rely on your resistance
If you wish to live another day

This is only a temporary distraction
One that will soon dissipate
Let your blessings take action
While your inner love anticipate

Be grateful for today
Because yesterday is gone
Tomorrow is a new day
Look forward to a beautiful sun
