MR. DOVE AND THE COMPETITION

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

There was a flight contest every year in Dovetown. Mr. Dove always refrained from participating even though the price was as high as $100.00 for the winner.
“Honey, you should really enter the contest,” said his mama.
“No, Mom, I don’t want to make a fool of myself. How can I compete with Mr. Eagle, Mr. Howl, Mr. Hawk, and Mr. Pigeon?”
“Let the judges decide. Do the best you can.”
“Mama, what’s my best?”
“You’ll figure it out.”
Mr. Dove entered the competition. He flew the lowest, but he used his acrobatic exhibition and impressed the judges.
“I did the best I could,” he told the judges.
Mr. Dove won the competition.
“How is it possible,” said Mr. Eagle.”
“It’s not how high you can fly, it’s how strong your wings are,” smiled one of the judges.”
