THE MONOTRY©

Birth of the monotry
A monotry is a short monologue
That is recounted like a story
But is more like an apologue

Those who write monotries are monotists
Monotries are written in free forms unlike poems
Monotists are like great artists
Whose works are based on personal events

A monotry is like a short memoir
Accompanied by a personal message
It can also be written like a great repertoire
Taken from a person’s life passage

A monotry is like a great dialog
That forces you to mentally partake in the subject
As if you were a part of the dialog
You can really feel the effect

Monotries are a great way to vent one’s frustration
While sharing with others your own story
A monotry can unveil great inspiration
This is one of the best aspects of a good monotry

This new form of writing
Can be very enjoyable to a reader
The stories are very exciting
You become an insider

You become a part of the person’s life
While relating to his/her challenge
That is a twin of your own strife
You learn how other lives hinge

A monotry is a great way
To rant and vent life’s frustration
And when expressed the right way
May provide coping for life’s complication

Once you start reading monotries
You will realize that you are not alone
Others are also facing life’s miseries
And their pains will soon be shown

Monotries bring us perpetual wisdom
That enthralls the heart and mind
And make us shine brighter than stardom
The art of monotism is good for mankind

Have a fun holiday season.

Don’t worry about the gifts you can’t afford, instead be grateful for what you have: your friends, family, your life, a pillow to rest your head, your smile and your health. You don’t need to buy gifts for everyone. A beautiful card that says: “I love you” may suffice. You can buy the gifts whenever you’re able. Your situation will soon ameliorate.

Although most gifts are appreciated, people don’t mind if you cannot afford to give them gifts. We can always celebrate those we love with appreciation. Sometimes a hug or kind word may be more valuable than an expensive gift.

I invited everyone over for rice and beans. They all watched the old TV that the neighbor gave me. It looked as though it was snowing inside the TV but no one complained and they all had a fun. The way we treat people matters the most.

If you usually cook every year for everyone and you can’t afford it this year, it’s okay. You need not feel obligated. A change of venue can be a great experience. Request that Uncle Popo, Aunty Dada or Grand-ma Nana be the host this year. They may appreciate the honor. Bring a plate with you or some flowers. You can even offer to help with the cooking. This year, child, I am going to uncle Pepe or Toto. I’ll even bring my famous rice and beans and sweet lili pie.

Loneliness can impact those who are alone during this time of year. Just because you‘re alone doesn’t mean you have to be lonely. Go out and mingle with others because you’re never alone. Join a local charity or a networking group. There are many free events throughout the cities. Go out and make new friends. People will talk to you if you give them a chance. Don’t be shy and don’t be afraid to smile. Make the best of the season. No matter what, you’ll have a fun holiday season because life is a beautiful monotry.

EVERYDAY IS A GOOD DAY

Everyday is a good day
When you make it a good day

Every moment is special
When you make it special

Every minute is beautiful
When you make it beautiful

Every bad situation can turn good
When you want to make it good

You have the power to do all that you want
Therefore use the power to do all that you want

Because you have it
You should use it
