HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY

Most people enjoy Thanksgiving and look forward to spending time with family members. Some travel many miles just to share this special day with their loved ones. On the other hand, there is a small amount of people who would much rather spend the day on the planet Mars. I wanted to find out why some of those people dread such a great day. So, I did my own survey. Nine out of ten people I talk to said that the number one reason why some people don’t like to be with family members on Thanksgiving Day has to do with the drama. Why do people have to choose a day so special to be unkind and miserable? You see, many people don’t communicate or see each other during the year therefore, they hold their issues until they meet on Thanksgiving Day. For that reason, some may not wish to share their beautiful, juicy turkeys with inconsiderate family members.

I personally had one bad experience with one of those unhappy humans. In fact, that person drove me bananas while I tried to digest my yummy trimmings. This particular person was so naughty on that Thanksgiving Day that she caused the poor turkey to blush. Why do we share our beautiful turkey with unkind ones? Sometimes we have no choice because it’s hard to say no to family even when they’re naughty.
This is not typical and more than 99% percent of humans have a good time during Thanksgiving Day. However, this is some of the stuff you might hear at the dinner tables of the less than the naughty 1%.

1) “Yeah mom, I wonder why you took more pictures of my sister than of me.”
2) “Yeah Dad, It’s your fault that I’m a loser, you used to kick my butt too much.”
3) “My gosh! I can’t believe you loved my brother more.”
4) “When I was eight years old, you spank me for not making my bed.”
5) “Yeah! You need to get a job bro.”
6) “I bet you didn’t prepare the turkey yourself. You bought it didn’t you?”
7) “Why did my sister always have the best dolls?”
8) “So, Elaine, will you ever get married and make me a grand-ma?”
9) “Yeah! I wish you were as successful as your sister Jolene.”
10)“Yeah Dad, I know you loved my brother more and I don’t care.”
11)“Kids made fun of me because you failed to wipe my nose.”
12) “Who cooked this turkey? Really!”
13) “ How long does mom have to care for you sis?”
14) “Save the drama for Halloween, grand-ma.”
15) “Who invited “them” here?”
16) “Is anyone going to take me home or do I have to walk?”

Because of the 1% naughty humans, I decided to give a new meaning to the word Thanksgiving so that everyone can be happy.

THE TRUE MEANING OF THANSKGIVING.

T: THANKFUL: We are very thankful for this day.
H: HAPPY: And we’re happy to be here.
A: ALIVE: Because we’re well and alive.
N: NEW: We will have a new attitude.
K: KINDNESS: This time around, kindness is the rule.
S: SEASON: This season is ours to enjoy.
G: GIVING: There is much joy in giving.
I: INDULGE: We’ll indulge in laughter.
V: VALUE: We will value our time together.
I: INTENTION: True love is the best intention.
N: NICE: Therefore we’ll be nice to one another.
G: GOOD: So we all could feel good in the end.

We are very thankful for this day. And we are happy to be here because we’re well and alive. We will have a new attitude. This time around, kindness is the rule. This season is ours to enjoy. There is much joy in giving. We’ll indulge in laughter. We will value our time together. True love is the best intention. Therefore, we’ll be nice to one another so we all could feel good in the end.
