It was seven years ago today
Our lives were changed forever
And while today is another day
It’s also a day to remember
We must remember those who passed away
And those who breathed the Twin Tower’s dust
More, those who used love and compassion to cut a passage way
And earned so many survivors’ trust
We must also remember the courageous people
Who this day toil to keep us protected
We must remember to keep our resolve full
And our strength a tower erected
Most of all, we must acknowledge this great land
And be proud to be a part of such a great entity
Where people’s generosity is always at hand
And our greatest ferocity is our unity

REFLECTIONS OF 911…
A GATHERING OF FRIENDS
By Ann Agnant
Seven years ago, on the morning of Sept 11th 2001, America experienced the most deadly day in our history. This day has since been a day that unites us like never before.
A planned terrorist attack was intended to break the American spirit, but the opposite is true. 9/11 has brought our nation together with greater strength …greater courage.
The magnitude of the horror is still today, difficult to comprehend. So many thousands of innocent people whose lives were taken;
we say taken, because there lives were not lost…their spirits live within us and in the ‘heart’ of our nation, forever as HEROES!
Shortly after the attacks, The Mayor of NYC, Rudolph Gugliani stated this, “ We have met the worst of humanity with the BEST of humanity.” Today we are reminded that, each of us is called to become the Heroes of today and that each of us is being called to demonstrate the best of Humanity as the many heroes displayed on 9/11 at the World Trade Center, The Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania.
This day should become for us a day for celebrating the American Spirit; a spirit of freedom and courage. This is a day for both remembering and renewal of a commitment to eradicate hate, eradicate terrorism. We must be united as individuals, as Americans, and as countries to create and maintain a world that is against terrorism, against Hate.
We will always remember. And now let us remember. Please respond with “We remember”
For the mothers on 911…We remember
For the fathers on 911…
For the daughters of…
For the sons of 911…
For the children of 911…
For the families of 911…
For police officers and firefighters of 911…
For the volunteers of 911…
For the crews of 911…
For the passengers of 911…
For the unspoken and unknown heroes of 911…
If anyone has a special intention to add please say this now out loud or within your hearts.
“We remember.”
We now light a candle in memoriam and as a symbol that we like this candle will spread the light for Freedom in our hearts, our families, our country and our world.
Thank you for taking time to share this special day of memoriam with us this evening. Let us help each other spread our lights of freedom and courage today and always.
WE DO REMEMBER!
